At Lentiira Holiday Village, you wake up to birds singing, hear the gentle sound of the lake, and see the Milky Way shining above. Choose your favorite from nine log cabins built in traditional Finnish style. They are located in beautiful nature in Northern Kuhmo.

If you travel with a motorhome or a tent, our campsite has peaceful grassy spots under the trees – and all the important services nearby.

When you arrive at Lentiira Holiday Village, you step straight into nature’s peace. Here you’ll find clear lakes, the smell of pine trees, and a sky full of stars with no light pollution. Whether you are an adventurer, a curious nature lover, or someone who just wants quiet time outdoors, Lentiira is a good place to rest and feel calm – in the middle of nature.

Stay in a cozy cabin or at our campsite, and at the end of the day, relax in our traditional smoke sauna – or book a gentle wellness treatment with a sauna therapist. Your holiday can include forest walks, canoeing, quiet moments at a campfire, or winter adventures like snowshoeing and skiing. Fishing, wild herbs and local food are also part of this lifestyle – and now you are welcome to experience it too.

Your pet is welcome too – we know holidays are best when all family members can join.

From summer 2024, Lentiira Holiday Village is run by Elise Heikkinen-Johnstone and Rob Johnstone – a small family business with a big heart and strong roots in Kainuu. We are not part of a hotel chain – you are our guest, not just a customer.

The quiet forests around Kuhmo are home to wild animals you don’t see every day: bears, wolverines, and many other shy forest creatures. With our trusted partners, you can safely see these animals from a special hide or join a guided tour – always in their natural habitat.

In autumn, we go berry and mushroom picking with a guide and take time to enjoy the calming power of the forest. When snow comes, the same trails are perfect for snowshoeing or skiing – quietly, in nature’s rhythm.

If you enjoy fishing, Lentiira is the right place for you. The clear waters of Lake Lentiira have pike, perch, and zander. Just 4 kilometers from the village, the Änättikoski river is a favorite spot for fly fishing. There you’ll find casting spots and a cozy grill shelter.

We offer everything you need: permits, boats, gear – and if you like, a guide to help you. Fishing is part of our way of life, and we are happy to share it with you.

Smoke sauna – the highlight in Lentiira

After a day of adventure, what could feel better than a warm smoke sauna by the lake? The gentle heat of the wood-heated sauna and a refreshing dip in Lake Lentiira are the perfect way to end your day.

You can also enjoy traditional treatments with a local wellness therapist. We organize wellness days, company retreats, and private events like bachelor/bachelorette parties or birthdays. The smoke sauna and cozy fireplace room are also available for evening programs.

Look at distant galaxies – and see the northern lights dance

The magic of the dark season is in the quiet starry skies and the colorful lights of the aurora borealis. When the sky is clear, you can look far into space with our professional telescope – it brings galaxies close to you.

Your guide is Rob, our own in-house astronomer. He shares fascinating stories about nebulae, planets, and the wonders of space – for both beginners and experienced sky watchers.

Lentiira Holiday Village is a Biosphere-certified sustainable travel destination. We are always working to make our trips and services more eco-friendly.

We also support local food: our meals include local fish and game, berries, mushrooms, and herbs – always served with a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

As our guest, you can also make small choices that help nature – like sorting your waste, lowering the room temperature, or staying a bit longer.
