Lentiira Holiday Village is ideally located by the diverse fishing waters. On the lake, you can sneak in the yard or look for suitable places by boat. You can go grayling and trout fishing to the nearest Änättikoski, or to Lentuankoski and Pajakkakoski in the center of Kuhmo, which is a half-hour drive away.
We are engaging in dialogue with the local fishing cooperative and service providers to develop sustainable fishing practices in the area. The recovery of natural fish stocks in rapids areas is supported, among other things, through minimum size limits, autumn fishing bans, catch feedback surveys, and water temperature monitoring. To support our work for sustainable fishing, it's important to follow the fishing regulations and guidelines, which include catch-and-release rules for some species.
Fishing on Lake Lentiira
At Lentiirajärvi you can catch pike, perch and whitefish. The lake has a relatively narrow and deep profile, and the fishing area extends to several kilometers east, west and north of the village center.
On the riverside side you will find sheltered coves for snoring, and peaceful fireplaces where you can beach for a snack. In the fish cottage on the shore of the holiday village, you can catch your catch conveniently. It is nice to fry fresh fish for dinner at the courtyard hut or barbecue area.
When lake fishing in Lentiira, it's recommended to use lightweight tackle and equipment, including a spinning rod and reel, lures, and bait. You may also want to bring a boat or rent one to access deeper parts of the lake.
Fly-fishing on Änättikoski rapids
Änättikoski is a beautiful and popular rapid for fly fishing. Located some 5 km from our resort, the rapids makes a perfect setting to catch trout and grayling. Along the river you can walk in the shade of the forest, where you will find your own peaceful spot. However, it can get crowded during peak fishing season. In addition to a convenient throwing pier, you will find a covered fire place on the shore, as well as a parking space a few hundred meters away.
When fly fishing at Änättikoski, it's recommended to use lightweight tackle and equipment, including a fly rod and reel, floating line, and a selection of flies that match the local insect hatches. You may also want to bring waders and boots for easy access to the river and better casting.
Overall, fly fishing at Änättikoski is a rewarding and memorable experience for anglers of all skill levels. The pristine surroundings and abundant fish populations make it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and fishermen alike.

Fishing permits for rapids and lake
For freswater fishing you will need a valid fishing permit. The permits can be purchased online or from local vendors in the area. For the rapids of Kaarneenkoski, Vuonteenkoski & Nivanvirta and Änättikoski the most convenvient way to get fisihng permit is in our online shop.
Permit for Lentiiranjärvi lake finds in the Kalakortti.com online store. Permits can also be obtained from the reception of Lentiira Holiday Village. Please call advance to be sure that our reception is open when you arrive.
Equipment rental
Lentiira Holiday Village rents out boats and fishing equipment. In winter times we propose even ice-fishing trips together with an experienced guide. When booking a cottage please mention the need for equipment rental or related service.
